PLANTS OF THE AMAZON PHOTOS
Throughout the history of restoration of
the botanical garden, we have planted a great diversity
of orchids, heliconias, bromelias, useful plants, and much
more from the Ecuadorian Amazon. Many of the plants have
been salvaged from logged forests and subsequently transplanted
into our forest; a few have arrived naturally. Gradually
pollinators have returned to the forest, allowing orchids
and many other plants to germinate naturally.
