AMIGOS and DONATIONS
Learn about our neighbor's land which we are trying to purchase!
We are currently facing a desperate time keep the edges of our reserve from turning into a residential subdivision. We are looking for funds in order to acquire twenty five acres of land in order to continue with our work of preservation of the flora and fauna of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
You can donate securely using PayPal and our email address, jbl_orquideas@yahoo.com.
Thanks to the support of a German visitor we have constructed an interpretive visitor center in the park. The museum provides a history of the restoration and recolonization of the park in the form of a photographic chronology, and is a great addition to our educational programs for visitors, neighboring communities, and student groups. Currently we are in the process of planning a classroom to receive student groups and hold seminars. In order for students to continue studying in the park, we hope to continue this building to include a laboratory and library. Perhaps one day we will be able to call this tiny family project the Amazonian Academy for Ecological Restoration.
If you have the opportunity to contribute your skills with research and restoration,
see our page about volunteering and internships.
