The Orchid and Botanical Garden of the Ecuadorian Amazon
Is the fruit of an idea that began in Puyo in 1980. Here you can discover orchids in their natural setting, in a restored forest in the upper Amazon basin. This reserve is a site of scientific inquiry, thanks to the work of its owner, Omar Tello.
The reserve is guided by the mission:
We are located minutes outside of the city of Puyo, in the Amazonian (Oriente) region of Ecuador. Visit us to explore the botanical garden, or write to us to learn more about research, jbl_orquideas@yahoo.com. To inquire about volunteering, see our page about volunteering.

It is illegal to remove orchids from their natural habitats. We only collect orchids from forests that have already been logged, unfortunately, these forests are usually cleared for livestock.
